The space reconfiguration of the call center segment in brazil seen from the implementation of the teleactivity centers in Paraíba

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to analyze the process of territorial reconfiguration that took place in Brazil over the last decade in the call center segment, based mainly on statistical data from the Annual Social Information Relation - RAIS and documentary sources. Initially with a high degree of concentration in the Southeast of the country, mainly in São Paulo, we observed a recent trend of growth of the Northeast's relative participation in the national employment in the sector. The study focuses in particular on the significant growth of Paraíba's relative participation in this region, when from 2012 three large call center companies settled in the state.
