Subjective health perception and physical activity level of aged people

Abstract

This study aimed to asses the relationship between physical activity's level and health's conditions of elderly who joined elderly society groups in São José, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The sample was composed by 262 elderly with mean age of 70,05±6,7 years. It was found significant difference (p=0,006) in the relationship between the physical activity's level and a health's state that compromises practice of physical activity. The authors concluded that elderly who have a lower physical activity's level are more linked with a health's state that compromises practice of physical activity, and that one must create multidisciplinary strategies to revert this scene.
