Plummer-Vinson or Patterson-Kelly syndrome is a rare disease characterized by the triad intermittent dysphagia, iron-deficiency anemia and esophageal webs. There are few data on its prevalence. Although currently a rare syndrome, its recognition is important once it identifies a risk factor for cancer of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Here we describe a case with literature review.
