The National School of the French Magistracy and the Brazilian Magistrates Training Schools: historical-educational aspects

Abstract:

This article deals with historical-educational aspects of the National School of the French Magistracy and the Brazilian Schools for Training Magistrates. In view of the development achieved by these institutions, a survey of their history was carried out, seeking to better understand the structure, practices, culture, and their subjects. As a theoretical framework, Burke (2005), Vieira (2015), Julia (2001), Viñao-Frago (1995), Thompson (1998) and Bardin (2016) were adopted. From the methodological point of view, we chose the Cultural History approach, using bibliographic, documentary, and oral research. As a result, it was found that Brazil is inspired by the main French theoretical-methodological references, however the configuration of the training processes is structured differently.
