Learning and subjectivity: a construction from the playing

The article discusses the processes of learning and subjectivity in a qualitative epistemological perspective. The article indicates the role of playing in the learning process conceived in the interaction with the teacher. Five teachers and 28 first year primary schoolboys participated in the "Workshop on Playing", carried out in a school located in a poor area in Sobradinho II, Federal District. All the schoolboys selected were classified as having learning difficulties. A qualitative methodology was used with an emphasis on participative observation, for a period of five months. In addition to proposing a theoretical foundation of playing, the article includes reports of observations, in which specific aspects are discussed from the perspective of playing as a possibility of a positive production of subjectivity and not only as a didactic procedure. The conclusion is that playing, within a space of leisure, can be seen as a possibility to develop the student in their subjectivity.
