ABSTRACT

The strategic decision-making process is presented in the literature as an important means to understand the organizational phenomenon. In order to publish a review of the agenda to point out future research, the systematic maps how about the decision-making process in journals classified with a high impact factor in the SCImago Journal Rank - SJR in the period from 2010 to 2020, guided by the question: what are the characteristics of production on strategic decision-making between 2010 and 2020 and how can this topic be developed in future research? The analysis of 13 publications indicated a gradual growth in the number of strategic studies, however, we identified that production is still restricted to countries on socioeconomic development and new researchers with ⅕ development of research. A predominance of positivist baseline studies and tested works was evidenced, in addition to the abundance of over-scaling, indicating that the field remains static to its own dynamics. This article contributes to proposing a new research agenda, intensifying the use of qualitative approaches, broadening the understanding of the epistemological theme, deepening the organizational decision-making process, complex research at different levels on high levels and unexpected situations.
