DE(S)COLONIAL APPROACHES IN MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONS

The objectives of the article are: to distinguish and bring together two recent de(s)colonial approaches, which have contributed to discussions and practices of management and organizations, namely the Decolonial Latin American approaches and the Epistemologies of he South; and analyze scientific articles on management and organizations that have used these approaches in the last ten years, using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), with the aim of highlighting how the similarities between them have contributed to the field of management and organizations. Five themes stand out in the analyzed articles: environmental management, management teaching, management in non-business organizations, research on management and organizations, and international management. For each theme, contents related to the concepts of pluriversal transmodernity, ecology of knowledge, sociology of absences and emergencies were covered. From this analysis, it was possible to observe important contributions, such as the search for understandings of nature that are alternative to Western ones; questioning modern assumptions, such as the notion of sustainability; possibilities for dialogue between different knowledge; emphasis on different organizational and management models; building solidarity links between countries; as well as promotion of teaching and researching connected to both local histories and knowledge.
