INTERPERSONAL TRUST AND ORGANIZATIONAL TRUST AS ANTECEDENTS TO THE ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIORS

ABSTRACT

The aim of this work is to analyze the influence of the contextual antecedents Interpersonal Trust (IT) and Organizational Trust (OT) on the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB). Through a survey, 988 workers from the educational sector belonging to thirteen private educational organizations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul were investigated, in 2017. The data obtained were analyzed with the support of the SPSS and AMOS software, through Structural Equation Modeling (MEE). The main results found expose the relationship of influence of Interpersonal and Organizational Trust on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors. The reflections that emerge from the findings of this research, suggest that the social context assumes a central role in stimulating cooperative and discretionary behaviors in organizations. It was also noted that advances were made in bringing this discussion to the field of educational sector institutions, which play a unique social, political and economic role. For managers in education, a greater understanding of the contextual background on the OCB can contribute to the development of behaviors aimed at cooperation, through greater involvement among individuals and support from the institution to the participation and appreciation of the contributions of workers in the sector.
