Based in bibliographic referencial, the author discusses and analyzes the motivational process in the nursing teaching and assistence. She intends with that work to bring subsidies to enrich this subject, searching to show its importance for the nursing performance with the client, family and community and with the nursing student. To attain these goals, many authors were consulted, specially about nursing researchs and motivational theories besides the own author's experience
