É possível psicanálise breve?

The psychonalytical psychotherapy with delimited time is here definied as a treatment for which the duration span is previously adjusted between the psychotherapist (or analyst) and the person who’s seeking help to deal with a psychic suffering that manifests itself in a demarcable area of the person’s life and being that its origin can be attributed to an unconscient conflict. The psychoanalytical theory furnishes the general samples that lay the foundation for the process, and the cure happens by means of working-through the unconscient conflicts, with possible repercussions upon the person as a whole. Theoretically, this therapeutic approach bases itself on Freud’s and Ferenczi’s conceptions and on researches that took place in Tavistock Clinic, mainly, through Balint’s experiment. This communication was stimulated not only by the results of the researches developed by the author in the field of psychoanalytical psychotherapy of delimited time, but also by the approval through resolution of the Health Ministry, of the compulsory coverage by private health plans and insurances for the brief psychotherapy of crisis with duration up to 12 sessions. This work aims to promote the debate among us about the value of the brief psychoanalytical approach. For that, besides the presentation of a chinical experience with a patient consisting of five psychotherapic interviews as well as two follow-up interviews, about six and twelve months after the end of the treatment, the foundations of the amplification of the psychoanalytical space are discussed, taking into consideration Freud’s position and the theoretical and practical critics, exposed by Birman, about what can be denominated psychoanalytical space. In this work, the importance that at the end of the therapy, an evaluation of the results reached must be done is also pointed out, and, if the work done is not considered sufficient for the elaboration of the conflictive tensions which initiated the clinical manifestations, the decision to end the treatment can be reviewed, and in case it’s confirmed, it does not invalidate the initial approach in the psychotherapy of delimited time as a precious tool to prepare the patient for the consecutive stage. The question that orientated this course remains: Is it possible to name the Brief Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy or of delimited time as Brief Psychoanalysis?

Psychoanalysis; psychoanalytical space; brief psychoanalytical psychotherapy; clinic case
