The present article summarizes the history of the treatment (encounters and nonencounters) of a patient named Clara suffering from intense pain caused by cancer and by the “ghosts” she has been bearing since childhood. The question as to the technique as a necessary and just way to come closer to the patient’s suffering and to promote changes can be seen throughout the text.
