Mimosoideae (Leguminosae) in the Reserva Ecológica do Panga, Minas Gerais, Brasil

Mimosoideae, one of Leguminosae subfamilies, has many species occurring in Brazil and one of the largest genus in the subfamily, Mimosa, has its center of diversity in the Cerrado. A floristic survey of Mimosoideae species in the Reserva Ecológica do Panga located in Minas Gerais state revealed the presence of 15 species belonging to 9 genera. Mimosa is the largest genus in number of species (five), followed by Inga and Stryphnodendron (two species each). The remaining species belong to Albizia, Anadenanthera, Enterolobium, Piptadenia, Plathymenia and Senegalia (one species each). This study provides an identification key, descriptions and illustrations, as well as data on geographic distribution and notes on the species of Mimosoideae occurring at the Reserva Ecológica do Panga.
