SUMMARY
The original diagnosis of Cecropia lyratiloba Miquel was based on steriles herbarium specimens collected by Pohl on the banks of São Marcos River, 45 km from Paracatu, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Recently abundant material was collected from type locality, making possible the description of flowers and fruits as well as anatomical studies of leaf and peduncle.
