Histopatologia da esquistossomose mansoni em fígado de Mus musculus infectado por amostras humanas de fase aguda e crônica da periferia de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais

Specimens o/Biomphalaria glabrata were infected with miracidia obtained from eggs of Schistosoma mansoni found in the feces of patients aged 7 to 18 years old, from Lagoa da Pampulha area, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, tírazil. The patients in the acnte phase were infected on their first visit to the focus. The patients with chronic phase disease were living around the focus. Egg samples were isolate from each clinical case. Fifty five female miee were infected by their tails with 70 ± 10 cercaria Seclions of lirer were stained bv HE, Gomori trichrome, silver impregnation, and PAS, and examined by optical microscopy. No statistical difference was observed between the average diameter of the granulomas and the sample and date of sacrifice of the mice (7th and 10th weeks). The granulomas were in the exudative phase; type IIa (mixed inflammatory reactions) and type IIIa (granulomas with epithelioid cells). At the 7th week samples of the patients in acute phase showed granulomas type IIa. Type IIIa were predominam at the 10th' week. At the 7th week, in samples from chronic phase patients, a mixture of type lia and IIIa granulomas was observed. Some histopathologic aspects of the liver are described and compared with those already found in the literature.
