Demographic aspects and health problems of Brazilian population

Basic Brazilian demographic data, were presented and its relation with population health standards were postulated. In Brazil, 28% of the population live in counties that have less than 20,000 inhabitants and 34% dwell in large towns, with over 100,000 people, and it should be stressed that those are the limits compatible with the maintenance of adequate health facilities. It was also pointed out that 35% of the urban Brazilian population are not covered by social security, a fact that implies in very poor medical care. If one adds to this fraction the rural population, one reaches to the conclusion that about 63% of the Brazilians are provided with substandard medical care.
