NÃO FOSSE ISSO E ERA MENOS / NÃO FOSSE TANTO E ERA QUASE: PAULO LEMINSKI, THE POET OF CURITIBA

Abstract

This article has as its object the artistic trajectory of Paulo Leminski. From an approach based in the field theory - as hierarchized and relational space of specific concurrence -, I take his work and his conditions of possibility to show how the relations between center and peripheries in the Brazilian literary field had a great impact in the artistic trajectory of the writer from the state of Paraná. Thus, I focus on the writing period of the book Catatau, published in 1975, and at its immediate reception to clarify the relations between Paulo Leminski and the groups of São Paulo and Belo Horizonte. Then, I proceed to reveal how the publishing of Catatau was a turning point in the writer’s trajectory and how, by being bound to the specific constrains of the time, the aesthetics solutions applied in his later works are directly related to the destiny of this book.
