The union of the weak may be the strategy to face, on the one hand, the fear and hopelessness of the ill who daily seek for the care they need.lt may on the other hand be the form of facing the amazement and the shame with which many of the care providers recognize their debilities to make prevail a minimum of social solidarity in their health services so that the needs of both groups come together.The level of barbarism and structure disruption found today in our Health System poses a challenge demanding courage and wisdom to redefine the elements of an equation where the sick and the caretakers can achieve a balance in which qualification and responsability in the care predominate. This is an open discussion, with the contribution of different disciplines that rather than being propositional intends to establish a deep reflection among those interested in bridging the theoretical and practical gaps in order to stimulate the good use of the resources to meet the demands of the health/sisease process.
