Contemporary challenges of the construction of the citizenship in Brazilian metropolis

Abstract

The article proposes the reflection on the contemporary challenges of the construction of the citizenship in Brazil resulting from the effects of the tendencies to the residential segregation and segmentation of the great cities on the civic culture that based political relations on the processes of democratization occurred in the developed societies.
