New considerations on geosystems and spatial organizations in geoghaphy

ABSTRACT

A systemic approach brought to Geography a new way to understand forms (elements) and processes (relations), allowing greater integration with the subsystems that compose it: society and nature. The objective of this article is to propose new considerations in the conceptualization of spatial organizations, using the geosystems vision of Sotchava (1971SOTCHAVA, V. B. Geography and ecology. Soviet Geography: review and translation. New York, v. 12, n. 5, p. 277-293, 1971.), Bertrand (1972BERTRAND, G. Paisagem e Geografia Física global: esboço metodológico. Caderno de Ciências da Terra. São Paulo, n.13, p. 1-27, 1972.), Beroutchachivili and Bertrand (1978BEROUCHACHVILI, N.; BERTRAND, G. Le Géosystème ou Systéme territorial naturel. Revue Géographique des Pyrenées et du Sud-Ouest, Toulose, v. 49, n. 2, p. 167-180, 1978.), as well as the considerations of anthropic systems of Rodriguez (1997RODRIGUEZ, J. M. M. Planejamento Ambiental: bases conceituais, níveis e métodos. In: CAVALCANTI, A. P. B. (org.). Desenvolvimento Sustentável e planejamento: bases teóricas e conceituais. Fortaleza: UFC, 1997. p. 9-26.) and Perez Filho (2007PEREZ FILHO, A. Sistemas Naturais e Geografia. In: SILVA, J. B.; LIMA, L. C.; ELIAS, D. (org.). Panorama da Geografia Brasileira. São Paulo: Annablume, v. 1, 2007, p. 333-336.). The procedures adopted to achieve this objective were based on the interpretation of specific literature about the main themes of this study: systemic approach, geosystem, anthropic system and spatial organization, and its application in a case study in the watershed. It was concluded that such spatial organizations, object of study in Geography, resulting relations of the physical-naturals and anthropic or socioeconomic systems in higher level.
