Open-access The role of the State in the right to health in palliative care: an integrative review

The research analyzes the role of the State in guaranteeing the right to health for people in palliative care. It is an integrative review carried out in LILACS, Medline/PubMed and SciELO. Initially, 980 articles were identified, and 10 studies were selected for full reading. The results demonstrate the fragility of government actions and the absence of consistent public policies and conditions based on legal norms, such as legislative frameworks for declarations in various specific countries. The topic showed legislative progress in Brazil on April 6, 2026.. It is concluded that the role of the State is fundamental to ensure the right to health and assistance in palliative care.
