Open-access “The ones who hold tomorrow in their hands”: black women and domestic labor as colonial heritage

The purpose of this article is to discuss domestic labor as a colonial heritage for black women. We adress the issue by presenting aspects of the coloniality, as well as recent news regarding domestic labor, which, in 2025, is still precarious and widely discredited in the country. Additionally, we compiled ideas from authors that discuss the intersection of race, gender and class to support our arguments.
