The knowledge of adolescents: lifestyle and care for their health

This study is a qualitative research whose objective is to discover the conceptions of adolescents about health and how they articulate their care practices, in the specificity of the process of becoming an adolescent. Thirty adolescents were the participants of this research. The method used in the production of the data was participative, focused on interaction and dialogue, with the application of focal group and photo-language techniques. The thematic analysis of content made it possible to evidence their conceptions of health as a way of live that as such, originate care practices that are articulated to the peculiar lifestyles of adolescents. The convergence of scientific knowledge and common sense emerged as necessary for sustaining an educational practice in health care in order to attend to the demands of care indicated by the proper citizens.
