A experiência imperialista romana: teorias e práticas

This article analyses the interactive processes arisen from the contact between cultures, originated from the constitution of the Roman Empire and generally known under de name of romanization. We aim to understand the dynamics of the "imperial project" through the political control over the provinces from the case studies about Africa Proconsularis and Britania. For such, we choose to examine the imperial incorporation of the local elite through the formation of an hierarchy of identities in the first case and the reorganization of the spatial systems through the construction of the territory in the second.
