Reviewing the quality-quantity debate: research trends in Librarianship and the Information Science

This article shows some controversies over qualitative and quantitative methods in the scientific worls in general, but, more specificaly Librarianship and the Information Science. It analyses the two methods in order to know the bases of the existing debate, and scrutinizes what have been the trends in Librarianship and the Information Science research with regard to the choice of the two methods.
