The application of prospective techniques has been recently introduced in agribusiness R&D and management in Brazil aiming at making strategy development more precise and accurate. However, to be actually useful, these analytical tools need to manage a great deal of information, not always available, which may blur their results. This paper intinds present a general review of such new concept and tools analytical used in Brazil, as a way of strategy and decision making within the agribusiness and commodities production chains environment. It establishes the importance of information management for the attainment of useful results and agribusiness development strategy making.
