Human capital management in libraries or information centers: challenge from the knowledge society

This paper discusses aspects of the human capital working in libraries or information centers, analyzing the general and specific skills of the modern information professionals in the Acquisition and Reference Services (beginning and end of the informational process). The learning organization concept is focalized. It concludes that the greatest change is in the mental models of managers, from the point of view of educational leaders this is, certainly, the biggest challenge that is imposed on us by knowledge society.
