ABSTRACT
This study aims, from a systemic functional approach (HALLIDAY; MATHIESSEN, 2014HALLIDAY, M. A. K.; MATTHIESSEN, C. M. M. (2014). An introduction to Functional Grammar, 4ª Ed. London & New York: Routledge.), to show both in source text and target text (Brazilian Portuguese) the relevance of MENTAL PROCESSES, taken here as subjective dynamism (HOY, 2017HOY, G. M. V. (2017). Representação da narradora como Experienciadora e Dizente em Inés del alma mía e na tradução para o português brasileiro: uma abordagem sistêmico-funcional. Tese de Doutorado em Linguística Aplicada e Estudos da Tradução.), for the representation of the narrator and protagonist of Inés del alma mía (ALLENDE, 2006ALLENDE, I. (2006). It has also demonstrated that the ideational equivalence has prevailed in the target text, although there were some ideational shifts that have changed her ideational representation.
