Matéria publishes original contributions on varied subjects in the area of materials, comprising metallurgical and materials engineering, condensed matter physics and chemistry. Its abbreviated title is Matéria (Rio J.), which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips. |

Target and politics
All the articles are submitted to a careful peer-reviewing evaluation process by the journal's Editorial Board. The Editorial Board, reviewers and authors make use of a web based proprietary automated tool to deal with the reviewing procedures - the ScholarOne. The authors are not informed about reviewer’s identity. Revista Matéria publishes original articles reviewed and accepted by its Editorial Board. An additional requirement for publication is to fill in and to send to the journal the Authorship Confirmation and Publication Rights form (a copyright assignment form). https://www.scielo.br/media/files/Authorship_and_Rights.docx The Journal adopts CopySpider system for plagiarism identification. Articles accepted for publication become property of the journal. |
Form and preparation of manuscripts
Scientific articles may be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English. An abstract, containing up to 300 words, is required in the original language of the article and in English. The articles must have the following characteristics: Text formatted in accordance with the standard-manuscript developed in MSWord, already containing the respective links in the text to the bibliography. All the formatting features are explained in this standard-manuscript, available at: http://www.materia.coppe.ufrj.br/standard.dot Tables and equations cannot be sent as images but typed in word. Only figures in TIFF and JPEG are accepted. |
Sending articles
Dear Authors, The articles submission to the Matéria journal is done by the ScholarOne in https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/rmat-scielo For questions about the submission process and article administration please contact the e-mail below email:revmateria@gmail.com. There are no fees for submission and review of articles. The publication fee is R$ 650.00 (six hundred and fifty reais) for Brazilian authors, USD 130.00 (one hundred and thirty dollars) for Latin American authors and USD 230.00 (two hundred and thirty dollars) for foreign authors. Payment information will be sent to authors upon approval of manuscripts for publication. |
