RESUMO
Os autores apresentam um caso de hemiplegia cruzada associada a impressão basilar, malformação de Arnold-Chiari e siringomielia. Discutem as propostas anatômicas e a fiopatogenia desta síndrome de ocorrência bastante rara.

ABSTRACT
The authors report a case of cruciate hemiplegia associated with basilar impression, Chiari malformation and syringomyelia. The neuroanatomical controversy, the surgical treatment and the good outcome of the patient are discussed.
