SUMMARY
To make irrigation interval control practical and inexpensive for the irrigator, it was perfected the apparatus shown in picture 1, which ir. a simplification of a previous type of evaporimeter developed by the author1 1 TOSELLO, R. N. Nôvo tipo de evaporímento terrestre. Bragantia 9: [73]-75. 960 .
The particular advantage of this integrator type of evaporimeter is that it has a hook that can be adjusted to show the critical level attained by the water when the crop shows the first signs of water need. Then, for the next irrigation, the irrigator knows that irrigation will have to start before the critical level is attained.
Every time irrigation is performed, water is added to refill the apparatus, the initial level being regulated by a small weir on the side of the tank, protected by a triangular baffle to avoid turbulence and consequent water waisting.
A numerical scale can also be added to the side of the baffle near the hook, so reading of the water level can be made and the rate of fall determined to give in advance the approximate time or date the critical level is to be attained.
