SUMMARY

This paper presents the results obtained through the use of carbon bisulphid in forcing early sprouting of dormant potatoes. The tubers were treated with 30 and 40 ml of the chemical per cubic meter, during 72 hours.

Thirteen different varieties were divided into tw groups each: small and large sized tubers.

The results have shown to be advisable such treatment mainly when late sprouting varieties are to be planted.
