Preface
With this February 2010 number, the Brazilian Journal of Biology® - BJB completes seventy years of continuous publication. This is an achievement that will be celebrated this year with a special number and a seminar on biodiversity in the neotropics.
The Brazilian Journal of Biology® is a scientific publication specialised in publishing original research papers, reviews and notes on the neotropical biota. It is indexed in the most relevant indexes and is a peer-reviewed journal distributed in 50 countries.
The International Institute of Ecology® - IIE is very proud of this relevant publication: approximately 1,300 papers have been published by the BJB since its incorporation by the IIE in 1999.
The Board of the International Institute of Ecology compliments the Editorial Board of the BJB for its efforts in maintaining a high level publication, as well as for the 70th anniversary of the Journal.
The Brazilian Journal of Biology has the strong support of the scientific community of biologists from Brazil and Latin America, for recognition of its policy and approach to publication.
