Mutação somática em Citrus limon

SUMMARY
A few whole acid fruits or fruits with both sweet and acid segments were found in a sweet lime tree growing near acid lemon plants. Both acid and sweet lemon plants were selfed, and the reciprocal crosses were made, in order to determine whether the :*eid fruits or segments are due to metaxenia or to somatic mutation in the sweet lemon tree. The results herein reported indicate that acid fruits or acid segments of fruits produced by the sweet lemon plant are more probably due to somatic mutation of a genetic factor affecting also the colour of young leaves and flowers, rather than due to metaxenia.
