SUMMARY

The soluble, exchangeable and easily reducible forms of manganese were extracted from soils, through percolation technique. The soil samples had been incubated for several mouths with two levels of calcium carbonate.

The results showed that the increase in soil pH, by liming, causes a decrease of the studied forms of manganese. Even manganese, added to the soil as sulfate, changed from the soluble to the easily reducible, exchangeable and insoluble forms when the soil pH increased.
