Resumo
Fresh potato sprouts were extracted with 2% aqueous acetic acid for 48 hours. The crude alkaloidal extract was purified by repeating the operation. Precipitation by concentrated ammonium hydroxide, centrifugation, dissolution of the resulting precipitate in 2% acetic acid, till a clear alkaline supernatant was obtained. The alpha-solanine, obtained by this procedure was purified by successive recristalizations with ethyl alcohol. The total yield was about 0.02% of the fresh material, with purity greater than 99%. IR, ¹H and 13C NMR spectra are shown.
