SUMMARY
This paper is about the fish arriving in the market in Manaus during 1976. The total catch is estimated by using functional linear regression. Statistics of landing per month and per gear are furnished. In maps are shown the places of catches with their geographic coordinates and the distance from Manaus. The main fish caught is the Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) with 44.1% of the total weight (30800 t). The most used gear is the arrastão (a type of seine used in lakes and rivers) with 46.6% of the total catch. Data of landings at two places near Manaus were compared: the lago do Rei (699.21) and lago do Janauacá (1277.51).
