Summary
The study of Taeniaptera Macquart, 1835, continues with the redescription of T. albibasis (Enderlein, 1922); T. angulata (Loew, 1866); T. annulata (Fabricius, 1787); and the description of a species new to science, T. teresacristinae, based on external morfology and genital anatomy of both sexes. The geographical distribution of the genus is centered in the American tropics. The occurence of these species bridges various types of amazonian habitats.
