Summary
Selection gain (Gs) and broad-sense heritability (h2) were estimated in a clonal population of taro (Colocasia sp.) that had been selected for precocity and corm shoot production. Only the classes 1 and 2. considered to be the most precocius. presented positive results with values of 11.58% and 35,76% respectively for Gs and 22,34% and 47,10% for h2. The production gain observed as corm shoot weight/plant was 62.34 g for class 1 and 105 g for class 2.
