Análise do setor madeireiro do Estado de Roraima

This study analyses the Roraima timber structure sector in 1984 and 1988. It was analized since the acquisition of the species by sawmills up to swan wood production and comercialization. It was found in 1981, 1984 and 1988 the. exported volume corresponded 74,7%, 13,7% and 0,14% of the total production. The. southern region of a Roraima showed an increase pooduction 6,6 higher in 1988 than 1984. Twenty-five species were used by sawmills in 1984, and cupíuba (Goupia glabra), jatobá (Hymeneasp.), cedro-doce(Bombacopsis quinata) and ipê-amarelo (Tabebuia serratifolia), represented 71,4% of the total volume consumed. In 1988 a bigger selection was found, wth saumills of the southern region of the state using only eight species, with angelim-pedra (Dinizia excelsa), cupíuba (Gloupia glabra) and caferana (Erism uncinatum), resenting 94,7% of the total consumed in this year. The oenning of the first venner and plywood industry occured in 1988. Its prodction began in 1989 and the specie most consumed was sumaúma (Ceiba pentandra). The indicatives for consuption, production an exportation, are much reduced if one compares with others states of the brazilian northen region with the same potencioal production.
