The author presents an extensive literature review about aromatic diamidines (Pentamidines), giving emphasis therapeutic of the leishmaniasis, considering the possibility of this drug to be used as second line in the treatment of this disease. Detach aspects of pharmacodynamic and side effects in clinic use of this drug.
