Electronic submission
Since August 19, 2009, articles submitted to Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia may be submitted electronically. This is a key element to speed up the process of publication, comprising a simple and fast system, according to the authors who have already submitted their papers through this new system. However, there are still about 150 papers in the previously existing system and they will follow the regular publication procedures, respecting the rights of the authors.
During the 64th Brazilian Congress of Dermatology (Congresso Brasileiro de Dermatologia), in Belem do Para, we held a symposium about Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, in which we presented and discussed key topics for reviewers and authors: current status of Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia (Izelda M.C. Costa Scientific Editor), Review of the Norms for Publication on Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia (Vanessa Zampier Editorial Assistant), Step by Step Process for Electronic Submission (Renan R. Bonamigo Associate Editor), in addition to Ethical Considerations for Scientific Papers (Maria Regina Silvares) and How to Write Scientific Papers (Hiram Laranjeira de Almeida Jr.). The discussion on the topics was mediated by Vitor Reis, Associate Editor. The main purpose of the symposium was to improve the scientific quality of the periodical. In the end, we can certainly state that it was a very fruitful experience.
In the next and last issue of 2009, we will announce which are the best studies published in the year, awarding the categories Investigation, Review, Clinical Case and Dermatopathology. It is also an opportunity to improve and encourage the quality of published papers.
We would also like to thank all those who trusted their precious studies to Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia so that together we could fight for a highlighted scientific stand for our publication. We know there is much to improve, but we should humbly and respectfully recognize what has already been done by many others who have believed in greater achievements to this Brazilian journal of dermatology that will celebrate its 85th anniversary next year.
