Dear Professor Izelda Costa, Scientific Editor of the Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia,
It is with great pleasure that we witness the improvement of the Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia (ABD), which celebrates 85 years of existence.
Congratulations to you for this extraordinary achievement and also to the Associate Editors, Renan Bonamigo and Vitor Reis. I would also like to congratulate the former Editorial Staff.
The average number of pages of the three publications that have come out this year is 137, and the new sections - Images in Tropical Dermatology and Images in Dermatology - have made the journal even more interesting, including to foreigners. Although worthy of note, the growing contribution of international colleagues to the scientific content of the journal has been omitted from the last editorial.
A brilliant analysis by the Editorial Staff of all the factors involved in the production of the ABD is the best way to achieve greater success, and this can be exemplified by the greater impact of the journal. Undoubtedly, this is a matter that goes beyond the reach of the editors and involves all the associates, because the decision of where to send the most relevant works belongs to each one of us. I ask for thoughtfulness and balance in this choice.
The competent work that has been done will make the ABD an even more respected journal. And this will contribute to a better and ongoing education and updating of both Brazilian and international dermatologists. This is what we all wish for and I know this will soon be accomplished.
