SUMMARY
Purpose:
To compare the results obtained by the "Corneal Analysis System EyeSys'', a videoke ratoscopy based on the p rincipie of Plácido 's disk, and with those by the "Corneal Topography System PAR", a videokeratoscopy based on the principie of rasterestereography, in view of the analysis of eyes with keratoconus.
Method:
Prospective and comparative study of the videoke ratographic maps of 55 eyes with keratoconus of 32 patients obta ined by CAS Eye-Sys and by CTS PAR.
Results:
The CTS-PAR method measured larger areas of the cornea, a larger number of cases, located more superiorly the apexes and supplied slightly smaller curvatures than the CAS-EyeSys. On the other hand, the two methods did not dijfer regarding measures of the direction o.f ustigmatism and the keratometric dijfe rence.
Conclusion:
The v ideokeratographyc methods based on Plácido's disk ( CAS EyeSys) and on rasteresterecgraphy (CTS PAR) presented severa[ discrepam results in the analysis of eyes with keratoconus.
