The authors report a case of a patient wich underwent a gastrointestinal surgery. After the procedure he presented with endogenous endophthalmitis in the right eye. This eye had to be eviscerated, despite treatment. The authors describe procedures and several infections that may lead to endogenous endophthalmitis.
