SUMMARY
Health promotion and health education concepts are apllied to the field of ocular health. Some conceptual aspects, characteristics and strategies regarding ocular health promotion are discussed. Development of community ophthalmology programs are of the utmost importance in the prevention of ophthalmologic problems and the preservation of ocular health.
