SUMMARY
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the fragility of the cornea in patients with keratoconus and alert them about risks and preventive measures. We report a 35 years old, male patient with previous diagnostic of bilateral keratoconus, with no acute hydrops, that presented corneal rupture in his left eye following fall from his own hight, without direct trauma to the globe. Therapeutic options has been discussed as well as the preventive measures to these cases.
