Bilateral congenital cataract: A comparative study of the clinical findings in two groups of diferent socio-economic classes in Pernambuco (Brazil).

SUMMARY

The authors reviewed the medical charts of 42 patients belonging to two distinct socioeconomic classes in the period August 1992 to March 1994. Of these patients with presumed congenital cataract, 22 were selected for this study because they presented bilateral cataract.

For each group we report the clinical findings and visual results after cataract extraction and visual rehabilitation.
