SUMMARY
Three patients with ocular trauma by insects of the genera Hymenoptera were examined. A toxic mixture of amines, peptides and enzims is inoculated during the trauma and this results in damage to the human tissues. All the cases showed anatomical and functional alterations of the anterior segment of the eye.
This kind of ocular trauma can be considered a cause of loss of vision. Surgical treatment was necessary and the histopatologic exam reveled lens corneal tissue modifications.
