Experimental model of hemorrhagic shock in rat

PURPOSE: The purpose is to establish an experimental model of hemorrhagic shock, reproducing a similar fact situtation that occurs in the traumatic victim. METHODS: Utilized 16 animals, all randomized, in 2 groups (n=8): Control Group (CG): surgical procedures for 60 minutes of observation; Shock group (SG): surgical procedures, bleending for establishment of the hypovolemic state (HS) with mean arterial pressure (MAP) in 40 mmHg, controlled by 20 minutes (20') followed by ressuscitation and reperfusion period 60 minutes. To evaluate HS , besides MAP, utilizeded the next parametes: blood lactate (BL) an base deficit (BD). To initiat HS bleending of volume of corresponding to 5% blood volemia estimate until MAP of 60 mmHg, instant the bleending changed for 2,5% blood volemia estimate. RESULTS: After period of 20' HS the mean BL of CG was 0,92 mmol/l and SG was 4,16 mmol/l. The mean BD of CG was 0,02 mmol/l and SG was -8,12 mmol/l. CONCLUSION: The resultant alterations in process of the installation of HS demonstrated an inversely proportional relation between BL and BD, fact that confirm the tissue bad perfusion and restauration volemic in the expost experimental model.
