Studies on the mineral nutrition of rice: XXVI. Evaluation of the nutritional status of variety Dourado Precoce

Rice plants were grown in nutrient solution complete and with deficiency of macronutrients. Total dry matter production weighed in the end of the cycle was not uderced by the deficiencies of Ca, Mg, and S. As rule plants grown in complete nutrient solution had higher concentration of the macronutrients in their dry matter. Leaf analysis conducted at tillering allowed of the establishment of both adequate and deficient lewis of all macronutrients. Quick tissue tests provide a rough estimate of the nutritional status. Foliar nitrate reductase activity was significantly lowered by the deficiencies.
